About Filippo Gaetani
Filippo is a two-time MTV Ourstage indie pop award winner, recognized for his work with Adrina Thorpe in 2009 and 2010. With over 120 albums recorded across the UK, US, Canada, and Europe, his collaborations span a wide range of artists, including The 1975, Andy Bell, Blinker The Star, Don Grusin, Stefano Bollani, Erik Friedlander, and the Austrian duo Papermoon. He has also worked alongside producers Jordon Zadorozny, Ken Andrews, Dennis Bovell, and Cameron Craig, among others. In 2000, Filippo co-wrote and produced Malina’s ‘By Your Side,’ which reached #12 on the US Billboard charts. His extensive touring career began in 1987 when he performed as a multi-instrumentalist with the Gianluca Mosole Group, supporting the live tours of Miles Davis, Sting & Gil Evans, and Al Di Meola. Filippo has contributed as a freelance sound designer for IK Multimedia, creating sound libraries for SampleTank 4. From 2020 to 2023, he taught Music Production and Sound Engineering at the Vienna Music Institute (VMI). He is also a founding member of the bands SheLoom (CAN) and Plants That Grow At Night (AT).
Raised in Rome and Tuscany, with professional experiences spanning London and the US, he is now based in Vienna. Two of his most influential mentors include Fleetwood Mac’s founding guitarist, Jeremy Spencer, whom he met at 14, and legendary engineer Al Schmitt.
